Aspect understands the need to give your child, or a child you’re supporting the best start, and often it can be a journey to find the right strategies to meet the individual needs of your child and family. Accessing quality and timely early childhood supports can greatly improve the quality of life for children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with other developmental concerns and their families/carers. However, waitlists around the country continue to pose a challenge in terms of access.

To assist and provide immediate support on a variety of topics, a range of “How to” books were created by our highly qualified team of therapists and educators, covering topics, such as developing play skills and transitioning to school.

Currently priced at AUD$25 each plus postage, through the month of March (or until sold out) we will be offering a 20% discount on the hard copy books, as we prepare for the exciting transition to e-book format later this year. For the first time, we will also be offering recorded online workshops and webinars with our therapists in the coming months.

Current available books include:

  • A Guide for Positive Behaviour Support
  • A Guide for Developing Social and Emotional Skills (available in English and Vietnamese)
  • A Guide for Developing Play Skills (available in English and Vietnamese)
  • A Guide for Toilet Training
  • A Guide to Transition to School
  • Early Play Program Manual

The Early Play Program Manual has also been adapted specifically to support First Nations Peoples, with guidance and support from the Ballina - Cabbage Tree Island community within the Bundjalung Nation.

Bundles of three and six books can also be purchased at the extra discounted rate, with each book having a synopsis of book content.

Books can be purchased through the Aspect site under “About Aspect / Our Shop” or by clicking here https://shop.autismspectrum.org.au/collections/books-and-publications
