Port Macquarie, NSW - Construction of Aspect’s new Port Macquarie campus is officially underway, marking a major milestone for the region’s autism community. To celebrate, Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is hosting a special “Laying the Foundations” ceremony at the Port Macquarie campus.
The event will celebrate progress on the new purpose-built K–6 campus in Thrumster, designed to meet growing demand for autism-specific education in the Mid North Coast region.
Guests will hear from Jacqui Borland, Chief Executive Officer of Aspect, and Craig McNee, School Principal, as they share updates and insights into the development and what it means for local families.
Craig McNee said what makes this new campus special is the environment we’re creating. “This new build is about giving Autistic students a dedicated space where they can learn, grow and thrive,” said Mr McNee. “We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with our local community.”
Set to open in early 2026, the Aspect Port Macquarie campus will include eight classrooms, specialist learning areas, outdoor play spaces and sensory-friendly facilities to support up to 48 students. The project involves both refurbishing existing onsite structures and building new facilities to deliver a welcoming, inclusive environment.
