Aspect is delighted to announce the appointment of Kathi Boorman as a Board-elected Director.
Kathi is currently Executive Director, One Door Mental Health and Housing Services at Mind Australia, and brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across government and community-managed mental health services. Her career spans service delivery, system reform, and executive leadership, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for people living with mental health challenges and their families.
A career of impact and innovation
Throughout her career, Kathi has demonstrated a proven track record in designing innovative, evidence-informed programs and leading complex organisational change. Her work has consistently centred on strengthening service quality, sustainability, and access, while ensuring supports remain person-centred and grounded in lived experience.
Personal commitment and passion
Drawing on her early career as a Social Worker, as well as her experience caring for a close family member on the autism spectrum, Kathi brings a deep commitment to holistic, recovery-focused support across the lifespan. She is particularly passionate about elevating lived experience leadership and embedding co-design in organisational practice.
Governance and leadership roles
In addition to her executive role, Kathi serves as a Board member of Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA), where she contributes governance expertise and a systems-level perspective to national mental health reform.
Kathi is a values-led leader who prioritises inclusive, people-centred workplaces and is committed to ensuring organisations remain focused on improving the lives and rights of Autistic people and others with lived experience. She brings a collaborative approach to working with families, carers, and communities to support meaningful and sustainable change.
