About our current partners

Our history of partnership

Aspect has proudly partnered across sectors and regions since 1967.

The history of Aspect began with Dr Andrew Vern Barnett and his wife Margaret who along with a group of six families with children on the autism spectrum founded the Austistic Children’s Association of NSW. The first school Aspect Vern Barnett was opened in Forestville within 5 years followed by a number of additional schools opening in the 70’s. In 1984 the organisation expanded to include therapy services, outreach and vocational support.

Aspect education has continued to experience steady growth with 10 autism specific schools in NSW and SA, along with over 100 satellite classrooms.

We are proud to partner across sectors creating inclusive education settings in mainstream and independent schools as well as tafe and university campuses.
