"Aspect is a progressive and supportive organisation which actively supports employees to undertake training and study in relevant areas of interest."

Tammy has worked in the disability sector for over 25 years. She originally started her career as a Direct Support Worker and then undertook further study, which led to roles, such as Family Liaison Worker, NDIS Program Coordinator, NDIS Support Coordinator and Behavioural Specialist Assistant.

Tammy joined Aspect two years ago and has recently completed her Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.

“On commencement of my role with Aspect I was supported to complete Aspect’s internal training. The online modules and training videos were relevant, informative and based on current best practice. Following this training I moved onto a Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance, which I was supported to complete over 15 months.

In addition to Aspect’s assistance while completing her studies, Tammy has found the team she works with encouraging and helpful.

“As an itinerant worker I generally work with a very small team, but am always aware of greater things going on behind the scenes and the army of people required to this. My local team are very supportive, inclusive, and available to answer any queries or concerns I may have.”

And by far, the best part of her role as an AHA is assisting people on the autism spectrum.

“The most rewarding part of my role as an AHA is to see people on the autism spectrum overcome barriers and challenges, which may have previously made them feel anxious or fearful, go on to live a rewarding and satisfying life. It’s been fantastic to see the positive impact with participants and their families.”

“Aspect is a progressive and supportive organisation which actively encourages employees to undertake training and study in relevant areas of interest. If you are thinking about becoming an AHA or looking to change jobs, complete the application and be prepared to be a part of something amazing!”
