“The most rewarding part of my job is being able to support children, adolescents, adults and families to make positive changes that bring their lives more meaning and value.”

Rhiannon joined Aspect in early 2021. She achieved a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle. Before joining Aspect, Rhiannon worked in a number of roles working with teenagers, elderly people and schools. Through these roles she developed an interest in working specifically with people on the autism spectrum.

“The day-to-day experiences of seeing the participants I work with grow, learn new things and achieve their goals is so fulfilling. I love being able to see people use their strengths to improve their day-to-day lives.”

Rhiannon also enjoys the workplace culture, induction program and ability to continue learning in order to support people on the autism spectrum and their families/carers.

“The team at Aspect are so supportive. The Operational Leaders and Supervisors are always there to assist us to offer the best support possible to our participants. My colleagues are always open to collaborating, answering questions, giving ideas on new resources or alternative ways to support someone that we are working with. Everyone is friendly and kind and it makes coming to work a real joy.

“The New Starters induction program at Aspect is exceptional with many opportunities to learn about Aspect’s evidence-informed model and develop new skills whilst gradually building your caseload.

“Aspect also has a yearly National Conference which brings together the entire Aspect Therapy and Assessments teams from around the country to learn from each other. I’ve also had the opportunity to complete external training to further develop my skills, and also be involved in wellbeing initiatives.

“I’ve also been involved in creating and delivering workshops to people outside of our organisation so that we can help more professionals and people in the wider community understand and value the strengths of people on the autism spectrum.

“If you have a passion for working with Autistic people and their families/carers, and would like to work with a caring and supportive team then I’d definitely recommend applying at Aspect.”
