APEX – Autistic Pregnancy and Early Parenthood Experiences and Support – is a team of Autistic and non-Autistic researchers, practitioners and advisors that was formed to explore how to provide better healthcare experiences and support for Autistic women in pregnancy and early parenthood.

The APEX members interviewed:

  • 19 Autistic participants
  • 1 parent on behalf of their Autistic child's pregnancy experiences
  • 12 healthcare professionals.

Based on our research, we created the Aspect Autistic Pregnancy and Parenthood Hub, a collection of resources for Autistic people and practitioners.

Dr Abbey Love and the APEX team were honoured with the Autism CRC Award for Achievement in Autism Research (Translation of Autism Research) 2025 for their project, The Autistic pregnancy and parenthood hub: translating co-produced research into community impact.
