Building an autism friendly Australia, one beach at a time.

After a sucessful pilot program in NNSW, we are thrilled to announce that we will be working with 14 Surf Life Saving clubs across NSW and QLD, to help them create an inclusive Nippers program and beach environment.

The project forms part of our work towards creating an Autism Friendly Australia, which has seen collaborations with Taronga Zoo, Museum of Contemporary Art and Coles with a recent Quiet Hour trial.

“At Aspect, we believe all Australians should have the opportunity to access and be included in their community in a safe and meaningful way,” said Adrian Ford, Aspect’s CEO.

"We are delighted to work with an iconic organisation such as Surf Life Saving Australia, who are synonymous with Australian beach culture."

The Inclusive Beaches project will introduce a range of specialist training, support and online resources for the whole community, as well as provide employment opportunities for people on the spectrum.

Funded by the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) National Readiness Grant, the project aims to enable people with disability to participate in, and benefit from the same community activities as everyone else.
