Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) respects every person’s
right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality in all aspects
of their life. Aspect ensures that appropriate standards are
maintained to protect the privacy of the data it holds.
When collecting personal information the following National
Privacy Principles will be observed:
Information shall not be collected unless it is for a lawful
purpose directly related and necessary to the
function of Aspect.
The individual is aware of the purpose
for which the information is collected and whether
it is usual to disclose this information to another
agency.
The information is relevant, up to date and complete,
and does not intrude unreasonably upon the personal
affairs of the individual.
Personal information is
protected against unauthorised access, use or
disclosure.
Personal
information will not be used without ensuring
that it is accurate, up to date and complete. Information
will not be used except for the purpose to which
it is relevant.
Personal
information is not to be used for a purpose other
than the purpose for which it was collected.
Exceptions to this are if the individual has given consent,
or it is authorised by law, or it is related directly to the
purpose for which the information was obtained.
Email newsletters
Aspect outsources the transmission of email newsletters to
a third party, People Logic Pty Ltd. In the course of doing this,
Aspect discloses your name and email address to enable People
Logic to undertake that particular function.
If you have unsubscribed from one of Aspect’s email newsletters
in the past, you will not be able to sign up again using the
same address without a specific written request. To resubscribe,
you will need to send an email to resubscribe@peoplelogic.com.au with the name of the newsletter and whether you prefer to receive
a text or HTML version. This complies with the Australian Spam
Act 2003.
