Aspect schools are funded in part by the NSW Department
of Education and Training, which has specific criteria for
placement. To be eligible for placement in one of Aspect’s
schools, children must be Australian citizens or permanent
residents of Australia and need to:
- have a current medical diagnosis of an autism spectrum
disorder
- have a current psychological assessment of cognitive
ability
- be between the ages of 4 and 16 years
Applications for enrolment are assessed and approved by
an independent Eligibility Committee. Requests for applications
and referrals to schools may be made either by parents or
by service providers in consultation with parents. Membership
of Aspect is not a requirement for eligibility.
“Application for Enrolment” forms may be obtained
by contacting the Aspect Centre for Western Sydney, your nearest
school or the Autism Information Line (see the back page of
this brochure for phone numbers). |
