Early Intervention for Autism

Home and Centre-Based Programs | Workshops

BUILDING BLOCKS® Early Intervention for Autism offers a range of services to families of children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in the Sydney metropolitan region:

1. Initial Family Consultations
An appointment can be arranged for a BUILDING BLOCKS® team member to visit your home, or you can come to our office in Forestville for a consultation of up to two hours. This is an opportunity to discuss your current needs, ask questions about your child’s diagnosis, receive information handouts on relevant topics and information on services provided by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and other service providers.

2. Building Links™ Parent Information and Support Evening Courses
A course of six (6) information sessions or 2-day workshops will be run in Term 2 (May-June) and Term 4 (October-November) 2008. When your forms are returned, we will send you more information about these courses.

3. Pre-school Consultation
A member of the BUILDING BLOCKS® team can make a visit to your child’s pre-school or childcare centre, make observations in this environment and then provide information and strategies to the staff (for example: using visual supports, joining in at group time, turn taking).
