The 2013 Research Forum April 4th, Mercure Hotel, Sydney.
The Research Forum formed part of Aspect's calendar of events planned for World Autism Awareness Day in April. Aspect's fifth Research Forum provided an opportunity to hear about some of the research projects undertaken by Aspect staff and key research partners over the last two years.
Presentations included:
Outcomes from the Aspect iPad trial by Aspect's research study team, Kristy Logan, Craig Smith and Tina Angus along with our partners from Wollongong University
Dr Libby Maher from Giant Steps, presenting her doctoral research, “Promoting Social Responsiveness between Adults and Children with Autism"
Outcomes of the Aspect evaluation of Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) and the Vantage Lite AAC device
Other presentations included the research findings from the evaluation of the Secret Agent Society program to teach children social and emotional skills and the impact of that program on their learning and development.
The aim of the day was to engage with Aspect’s partners and other professionals, to share our research outcomes, and to get feedback on some of our key research projects.
