What we do

 

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is the country's largest not-for-profit autism specific service provider. Aspect builds confidence and capacity with people who have an autism spectrum disorder, their families and communities, by providing information, education and other services.

Our services include diagnostic assessments, early intervention programs, schools and educational outreach, behavioural intervention, community participation and a parent support network. We also provide information services including a comprehensive website and an information telephone line.

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are lifelong developmental disabilities affecting each person’s ability to communicate and to relate to others in different ways, and to varying degrees. Individuals typically have marked impairments to social interaction, communication, and restricted and repetitive interests and behaviours, and may have sensory sensitivities.
