What’s Involved? Volunteers will help out at drink station and along the course to support runners and ensure everything runs smoothly. It is a great day out and you will be looked after with a snack pack and a chance to unwind at Sydney’s beautiful Botanical Gardens at the end of the day.

Helping with our Someone To Turn To program

Our parent support network Someone To Turn to would like a number of volunteers to help with some of the following activities:

  • Pampering days - we're looking for volunteers to help with registration & set up, lead activities e.g. yoga, meditation, craft or give hand massages etc.  The next pampering day is October 26th in Cambelltown but we will have other dates and places throughout 2012.
  • Volunteer mentors - if you know what its like to be a parent or carer for someone with autism then we would love to hear from you.  You'll be given training and support by Aspect and be paired up with another parent or carer who is going through a new diagnosis or a time of particular concern.  The role of a volunteer mentor is not a time-consuming one - probably a phone call every 2 weeks.
  • Office support - the Someone To Turn To and Autism Information Line team would love a regular volunteer who can help pull together spreadsheets and do some evaluation.  This could be fortnightly or monthly depending on your availability.
